This week's program features both secular and sacred Christmas music and features an interview with
Canadian guitar virtuoso Liona Boyd. The program begins with Kevin Gallagher performing a
multi-tracked theme & variation arrangement of traditional Welsh carol, Deck The Halls.
The Los Angeles Guitar Quartet performs their arrangement of Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker Suite.
Another guitar ensemble, The Small/Torres Guitar Duo, performs with cellist Nancy Hair in Mark
Small's composition, December 26. They are joined by violinist Nancy Roth and oboist Kathy Lord
in an arrangement of the traditional French carol, Bring A Torch, Jeanette, Isabella.
Adolphe Adam's O Holy Night is performed by Kevin Gallagher.
In an interview recorded at the K-Mozart Studios in Los Angeles,
Liona Boyd discusses her first guitar and her platinum-selling CD "A Guitar For Christmas".
She performs Canadian film composer Eric Robertson's orchestrations of an anonymous Renaissance
Spanish carol, Prelude on the Huron Carol, and a medley of English Christmas carols.
